Celebrating Our Volunteers This Volunteers’ Week
This Volunteers’ Week, we are taking the opportunity to celebrate and thank the incredible volunteers who support families across Wales through Home-Start Cymru.
Every day, our volunteers offer kindness, compassion and practical support to families facing challenging times. Through trusted relationships, listening ears and regular support, they help parents feel less alone, more confident and more connected within their communities.
The impact our volunteers make reaches far beyond practical help. For many families, having someone there to listen without judgement can make a real difference during difficult periods of parenting and family life.
Volunteers also tell us how much they gain from the experience themselves. Many speak about increased confidence, improved wellbeing, learning new skills and finding a renewed sense of purpose through supporting others.
One of our volunteers, Diana, shared:
“My confidence has definitely improved… it helps my mental health and gives me a sense of purpose.”
Stories like Diana’s reflect the power of volunteering and the positive impact it can have for both families and volunteers alike.
At Home-Start Cymru, we believe that strong communities are built through connection, compassion and people supporting one another. Our volunteers are at the heart of this work, helping families across Wales feel supported, understood and empowered.
This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every Home-Start Cymru volunteer. Your time, care and commitment make a lasting difference to children and families every single day.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and supporting families in your community, we would love to hear from you.
